Loudoun County Fair

The Loudoun County Fair, located in Leesburg, Virginia, is a five-day event is packed with activities for all ages and interests.

From livestock competitions to bullriding, carnival rides to craft displays, the Loudoun County Fair has enough to keep visitors engaged all day long.

Gates open at 4 p.m. Monday and at 9 a.m. each day after that.


The fair takes place each year at the end of July.

The fair hosts a demolition derby and a professional bull riding competition.

The last night of the fair is an open mic karaoke night, open to the public.


Every day of the fair is full of contests of every variety.

The first day will feature a corn on the cob eating contest, open to the public.

Other contests involving food include the egg toss contest, the bubble gum blowing contest, the pie eating contest, and the watermelon eating contest.

The Miss Loudoun County Fair Pageant also takes place the night before the fair opens.

A variety of craft and home arts competitions also take place, including the cake decorating contest and craft competitions.

Livestock and 4-H

Livestock is one of the cornerstone peices of the Loudoun County Fair.

Multiple livestock showings and competitions will take place, most of which are monitored and participated in by 4-H members.

Animal showings include the swine show, the horse demonstration, the ownership sheep breed show, poultry showmanship, and the heifer show.

Many of the animal demonstrations are educational, and beneficial for viewers of all ages.

A livestock auction takes place on the second to last day.

More lighthearted competitions are planned, like the animal dress up contest and the kiss-a-pig contest.

Each night, a different dinner is open to the public. Dinners are hosted by the 4-H club, the Beef Club, the Goat Club, the Poultry Club, and the Swine Club.


The Loudoun County Fairgrounds, located in Leesburg, Virginia, were purchased by the Loudoun County 4-H Clubs in 1956.

The grounds were sold by Clarence and Tilly Ahalt for only $10.

The original showbarn is still in use year round for agricultural and social events.

The Loudoun County Fairgrounds are private property and can be rented for a fee. All proceeds go toward the maintenance and improvement of the fairgrounds.
