Central Virginia has numerous attractions that are sure to spark the interest of all kinds of travelers.
The area is filled with heritage, history and natural beauty. Visitors most likely can’t see everything on a single trip, but they can see some of the top attractions.

Hampton Roads

Hampton Roads and Virginia Beach have enough attractions to keep just about any visitor (or resident) busy for days.

Although the main draw is the oceanfront, the tourist district has plenty to do, and other major attractions are close enough by car that they take little time to reach.

Northern Virginia

Northern Virginia’s closeness to Washington D.C. makes it a prime location for historical and cultural attractions.

Shenandoah Valley

The Shenandoah Valley is a beautiful area of Virginia to visit.

Southern Virginia

Southern Virgnia contains eight counties with American Main Street communities that detail important stories of heritage dating to the American Revolution, Civil War and Civil Rights. State parks and countless attractionsalso in the area.

Known as the Racing Region for the state, southern Virginia has six speedways and raceways in the region with plenty of NASCAR, motor sport, track racing and racing heritage.

Southwest Virginia

Southwest Virginia is a large segment of the state and offers a variety of activities, events, and attractions for people of all ages, families, couples and those with all interests.

While there are countless attractions, there is no way to visit them all when vacationing or passing through. Choosing from some of the more popular attractions may make your trip more enjoyable.
