Richmond Arts in the Park

Arts in the Park is a nationally-rated, juried art show at Richmond’s William Byrd Park.

The show offers visitors the chance to see and buy original work produced by top-quality artists and crafts people from Virginia and throughout the United States.

The 2018 event takes place Saturday and Sunday, May 5 and 6.

More than 450 artists from around the U.S. will gather in Byrd Park to display everything from fine art paintings to jewelry and weavings. Arts in the Park is recognized as one of the top art shows in the country.

Prices and quality vary greatly. Artists range from skilled amateurs to experienced professionals.

Visitors will find hundreds of canopies in a pleasant park atmosphere under aging trees by the Virginia War Memorial Carillon. Crowds are usually heavy on Saturday, but there is plenty of room to walk around.

This Art & Craft exhibit has been a celebration of creativity for over forty years in the City of Richmond. It takes place on the Mall, and in the shaded groves of Byrd Park surrounding the Carillon. No pets please.

Event Parking

Arts in the Park has free parking and free shuttles available at the City Stadium parking lot. Handicap parking also is available at the park.

The park has both parking lots and grassy areas where visitors can leave their cars. Early arrivals will find the most available parking. Late morning and early afternoon visitors may have to drive around a bit to find a spot.

The largest parking area is just to the left of the festival entrance. It’s an easier option to use than the grassy areas near the front of the festival.
