Helpful Tips

Parking can be a challenge for anyone attending the event. Pole Green Park has a single entrance by Hanover High School. Traffic flows into the park from both directions on Pole Green Road.

The majority of the traffic comes from Exit 38 off I-295. Depending on the weather and time of day, backed-up traffic may wait as long as 45 minutes and sometimes more to get into the park.

As a result, the best time to go on a good weather day is early in the morning beginning at the opening of the festival at 9 a.m.

The location of the festival does not have shade trees, so morning also is a good time to go on hot days.

Although dogs are welcome and common, the heat can be a factor in their comfort.

For anyone interested in breakfast, lunch or dinner before or after the festival, he Pole Green Road exit on I-95 is located midway between Route 301 to the northwest and Route 360 / Chamberlayne Road to the southeast.

Route 301 north has several shopping centers within one mile of the exit that include two Chinese restaurants, an American cuisine restaurant a pizza parlor and a half dozen fast food restaurants.

Pole Green's exit on Route 360 north leads to many more shopping centers and restaurant options.
