Chesterfield County Fair
Chesterfield County Fair, which has been in existence more than 100 years, occurs every year in August. The 2021 event will take place from Aug. 27 to Sept. 4.
Location
Chesterfield County is located in Central Virginia.
Chesterfield is about 30 minutes south of Richmond and an hour and a half from Charlottesville. From Washington D.C, Chesterfield is about a two-hour drive.
The fair takes place at the Chesterfield County Fairgrounds.
Visitors can reach the fairground by following Courthouse Road. The address for the fairgrounds is 10300 Courthouse Road.
Hours and Admission
Monday through Friday, the fair opens from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, the hours are from 11 am to 11 p.m. Sunday, the fair is open from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Daily fair gate admission is $10 per adult, $5 for seniors, and $5 for children ages 6-12. Children under 6 are free.
Unlimited midway ride wristbands are $25 each.
Daily Attractions
A variety of daily attractions make up the continuous entertainment at the Chesterfield County Fair.
The fair has daily arts and crafts displays, ackmonster chainsaw art, antique tractor and farm equipment displays, and a guinea pig display.
Bingo is played daily, and bounce houses for children are available each day.
The fair has a children’s tent, featuring face painting booth and appearances by clowns. Camel rides are available daily.
The fair also hosts a Bull Ride, a White Bengal Tiger Encounter Show, and Hogway Speedway Racing Pigs.
A variety of local food and artisan vendors are on the grounds for the duration of the fair.
Arts and Crafts Competition
Competitors can enter items for judging in the Arts and Crafts Competition.
The Arts and Crafts competition showcases creativity and originality. Participants are encouraged to enter their personal and original creations.
Grandstand Shows
While the daily activities make each day of the fair entertaining, the grandstand shows add a special excitement to make each day unique.
The grandstand will feature a 4-H Talent Show. The Miss Chesterfield County Fair Pageant also takes place at the grandstand.
